What is being done (Current State)

The partnership within the greater Sacramento area includes the County and City of Sacramento, the cities of Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, Folsom, Rancho Cordova and Galt, along with the Sacramento County Continuum of Care (CoC) and Sacramento Steps Forward, the lead agency of the CoC. Through this partnership, we work with hundreds of housers, service providers, homeless advocates and volunteers, with meaningful engagement of people with lived expertise (PLE).

We apply for and receive funding through competitive processes, demonstrating data-driven approaches to solving the problem locally.

Homelessness is a challenge in nearly every single state in the country. The obstacles that lead to housing instability are not unique to any particular governing style, political ideology or geographic region, although such conditions as weather, available support and resources may impact the speed at which a particular location can more quickly mitigate the challenges.
